More progress on Happy Monk - and lots of time spent on cleaning up his skin.
I'm going to get rid of the white spots on his beads as I don't feel they're necessary.
There's still plenty of shading and highlighting to be done on both the skin and the cloth -- but I feel like it's really starting to come together. I also tried the crosshatch technique for the first time on his stockings and like the texture it created.
And here's a look at him from all sides - as well as the complete composition.
I'd have to say, from seeing it last night at Great Escape Games, the photos don't do it justice.
ReplyDeleteThanks - and, yeah, I desperately need a better camera. All of those photos were taken under the same light, at the same settings... and only one background turned out white. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI like the red cloth most of all. I think the variations in the color look great along with the highlighting of the material.

Many thanks - that deep orange/saffron robe colour scared me at first but it came together nicely.
